Beaches

The San Vito Lo Capo peninsula is rich in beaches, coves and bays, characterised by crystal-clear sea, fine white sand and shallow waters ideal for children. The main attraction is the famous white beach of San Vito Lo Capo, which stretches for about one kilometre.
The second largest beach is the bay of Santa Margherita, a natural inlet with breathtaking charm, a few kilometres from the town on the coast of Macari and Castelluzzo: both beaches are sandy and equipped, therefore ideal for families.
The small but beautiful coves of Castelluzzo should not be missed,
(Scaru Brucia, Zu Asparu and Calazza) and those near Macari, such as Bue Marino and Isulidda, some with gravel, others with sand.

The beach of San Vito Lo Capo

The beach at San Vito Lo Capo is one of the most famous and fascinating in Sicily, with a 1.5 km stretch of sand characterised by fine, white sand mixed with fragments of red coral, giving it a unique hue. This stretch of coastline, bathed by a crystal-clear turquoise sea, is ideal for those seeking a relaxing atmosphere and breathtaking scenery, nestled between the promontory of Monte Monaco to the east and the striking lighthouse of Capo San Vito to the west.
Approximately 70 per cent of the beach is freely accessible, allowing everyone to enjoy the panorama and the surrounding nature, while the remaining 30 per cent is allocated to state concessions, where sunbed and umbrella rental services are available. The beach, popular with families, young people and tourists of all ages, offers a safe and welcoming environment.
For several years, the San Vito Lo Capo beach has stood out for its ‘Zero Barriers’ initiative, an accessible and inclusive area, equipped with platforms and tools that allow people with disabilities to access the sea without difficulty. This area offers the support of qualified staff, ready to guarantee a comfortable and safe bathing experience for all, free of charge throughout the summer season.
The beach is particularly safe for children and for those who are not expert swimmers, and it is no coincidence that it has repeatedly been awarded the Green Flag, an acknowledgement given to beaches that offer clean, safe and shallow water environments, ideal for children. There are also rescue and assistance services to ensure peace and safety for all bathers.

Baia Santa Margherita
